The new rules came into effect on 1 January for International games, however domestic leagues have until September 2024 to incorporate the new rules. You may find that throughout the year, there will be a blend of both old and new rules as both umpires and players get to grips with the changes. 

The World Netball website has some great videos and PDFs (see links below) which provide a full explanation of the rules and how they will effect our beloved sport. The main focus for the changed rules are game management and player safety but there is also a little clarification and streamlining of some of the more contentious rules. After all, one person's idea of contact may be another's idea of contest!
